The Brae at Strathearn
Thursday – Gentle run
Well, the day started off later than anticipated with a gentle run over to Henry Abercromby Landing on the Apalachicola River. A pleasant 14 miles round trip , with a stop at the landing for a cup of tea ( from my flask) and a cinnamon roll. ( well I had to replace all the energy I had expended )
The photograph is taken up river looking north west. The sun behind me to the south east.
Cycling in Hot and Humid conditions
I am eventually coming to the conclusion that I am best suited to cycling in cooler climates. It is taking me longer to acclimatize to the temperatures on the panhandle of Florida. The days start off at 25 degrees C (78F) and climb up to 33C (92F), but with 95% humidity. I am rung out after 10 miles, heavy with wet clothes and drained of energy.
So today’s adventure will take on a new approach. Carry extra water, extra energy bars and take it easy for an endurance run along the coast . More to follow !
